Conversion Times

How long will it take to install my Subaru engine?

The time taken really depends on the VW and Subaru engine combination you are doing, and the experience / skill of whoever does the installation work. However the following will give you an idea of the minimum times which you should expect. To get a conversion done this quickly, you would need to collect almost every part needed up front. The experience of Subaru powered VW’s which these two converter’s have made the task easier for them than it would be for someone who has never done one before.

    1. EJ20 Turbo Powered Late Model Bay Window
A conversion done by somebody very experienced with Subaru powered T25’s, but having never done a bay before (late bays are considerably more work than T25’s) took 5 1/2 days from scratch. Expect this to be longer if you have not done many conversions on other VW’s before.

    2. EJ22 Powered T25 (2WD)
Again, done by someone very experienced with T25 conversions using adaptor plates, this conversion took 3 1/2 days from scratch. Expect this to be longer if you have not done many conversions on other VW’s before.
