All of our clutch release shafts for standard VW clutch release shaft arms have 6 rather then the standard 4 splines. This allows the diesel arm (251141713C) to be fitted in the petrol arm (251141713B) position and vice versa when required. The petrol arms have been obsolete for many years, which means sourcing diesel arms is easier if you don’t have one.

However, this means you need to be careful to fit the arm in the correct position during installation. All the possible applications and arm positions are explained below:
